Jill Ciccone Pike
I am originally from Dunn, North Carolina and have lived in Raleigh since 1983. I have drawn and painted most of my life. Beginning in 1980, I was a full time mom, giving every bit of focus to wrangling and raising three sons. I worked on commissioned portraits in my spare time until our nest became officially empty in 2005. We built a studio addition onto our home, and I have been painting full-time since early 2007. Most of my work is done in oil, but I have also worked in acrylic, watercolor and colored pencil. I sign my paintings with my maiden name, Ciccone, to honor my father, who was an artist and musician.
My husband and I are the proud parents of a blended family of three sons and two daughters. They and their spouses have made us grandparents to ten grandchildren and when not painting, I enjoy spending time with them! We split our time between Raleigh, NC, Wilmington, NC and Holden Beach, NC.
Honors & Awards
I was chosen by the Bicentennial Committee of Dunn, NC in 1975 to do a detailed pencil portrait from several family photographs of Major General William C. Lee, the father of the 82nd Airborne Division and a native of Dunn. This pencil portrait was sent to Carrara, Italy and used by a sculptor as reference for a marble statue, which now stands in front of the William C. Lee Museum in Dunn.
